Riders Companion (“we”, “our”, or “us”) operates the Riders Companion mobile application (the Riders Companion). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our App.
By using Riders Companion, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

1. Information We Collect
A. Personal Information: When you create an account, we may collect your Name, Email address, and Profile information. We use Firebase Authentication for secure account management.
B. Location Information: Riders Companion collects precise real-time location and background location (when a ride is active). This enables live ride tracking, group coordination, and rider visibility. Background location is used ONLY while a ride session is active.
* Users may revoke location permissions at any time through device settings.
C. Ride Data: We collect route history, duration, distance, and timestamp data to provide ride summaries and improve experience.
D. Usage and Technical Data: Rules-based device info, OS version, app version, and crash logs help us improve stability.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the collected information to provide live tracking, enable group coordination, ensure rider safety, and respond to support requests. We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
3. Data Sharing and Disclosure
A. Service Providers: We use Firebase (Google) for auth/database and Google Maps for location visualization.
B. Ride Participants: Your live location is visible ONLY to participants of your active group ride.
C. Legal Requirements: We may disclose info if required by law or valid legal requests.
4. Data Security
We implement technical and organizational safeguards. While no method is 100% secure, we continuously work to improve security measures.
5. Data Retention
We retain data as long as necessary to provide services and comply with legal obligations. Users may request account deletion by contacting support.
6. Your Rights and Controls

7. Children’s Privacy
Riders Companion is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
